Our salon was only a dream I wrote down in a journal in a mansion called Catherine's Place years ago. This mansion was a temporary home for Mothers struggling with addiction, who, as a result, lost their children. 

Through my fight to get my son back, I began practicing my craft on sisters in sobriety and anyone who would have me—haircuts in treatment to color in bathrooms when we should have been sleeping. As I achieved sobriety, great opportunities began to come into my life. I got accepted into an amazing place called Amethyst Place. This place provides everything a mother and child need to have a happy sober life. Then I began doing hair at a high-end salon downtown. 

This salon taught me the importance of continued education in the beauty industry, which I value and travel to learn constantly today. 

I eventually gained custody, and my son and I moved out of Amethyst Place after four years. So now we are in the lovely Northland where I grew up, and all my friends and family are. 

In August 2021, I attended an amazing hair show and awards show in Austin, Texas, where I met some of my hair idols, salon owners, and other creatives from around the world.

While in my hotel room put pen to paper and wrote my ideas of what that salon might look like and a business plan. It was like a spiritual experience. Right then and there, I knew I had to return to KC and look for a building to open a salon with my son.

He's been a Huge Part of Revilo from the colors of the walls, aka the "Chiefs" RED Wall in the hallway and the "Royals" Blue wall in the lather lounge.

The name is Oliver backward, and it means to increase the value. 

Our salon is a product of our reuniting and a symbol of sobriety for me. Over six years now.

I owe it all to him. I want others to know that ANYTHING is possible if you really want it.
